The Office of Sustainability, in collaboration with Transportation Services & Parking Services, Health Advancement & Prevention Strategies, Human Resources, Lehigh Dining Services, and the Mountaintop Parklet Team, is partnering to host a Car Free Day Street Fair on Friday, September 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on Packer Avenue. The street fair will feature free food (while supplies last…), local vendors, Lehigh’s new electric bus, a raffle, and access to three parklets. The fair will bring a communal, friendly, and fun environment to Lehigh. At Car Free Day, Lehigh will be unveiling its brand new, state-of-the-art all-electric bus which will be added to the university’s public transportation system - helping to reduce Lehigh’s carbon footprint. Car Free Day is designed to promote alternative means of transportation such as biking, walking, running, and carpooling. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, transportation accounts for 27% of all carbon emissions in America. Car Free Day is a step in the right direction - a step toward environmentally responsible living and commuting. Come join us on Car Free Day and have fun with your friends and colleagues!
