Lehigh Climate Action Strategy Update

You are here

A key component of Lehigh's Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030 is the development, adoption, and implementation of a Climate Action Strategy where Lehigh can demonstrate true climate leadership. This strategy will establish a comprehensive roadmap for measuring, planning, and reducing Lehigh’s greenhouse gas emissions.  It will also establish a net carbon neutrality date for the university.

Lehigh is now 10 months into the development of its Climate Action Strategy.  The Climate Action Strategy and ‘Pathway to Zero’ emissions have been finalized and were presented to relevant Board committees in May 2021. They will be modified as needed throughout the summer and will be presented to the full Board of Trustees in October 2021 for approval. In the meantime, Lehigh continues to move ahead with certain initiatives outlined in the strategy.  Check out the Climate Action Strategy website to learn more about the development process, campus engagement, and to see the latest updates.
