As faculty and staff at Lehigh, you are part of a vibrant, dynamic, intellectual university community that designs, implements, and practices a sustainable life.  You can take steps to reduce your environmental footprint on campus, be responsible stewards of the university’s resources, contribute to Lehigh’s sustainability goals and commitments, and connect with the local community.  Be an agent of powerful, positive change at Lehigh. Leadership

As a faculty or staff member, there are many ways to get involved and be a leader in sustainability at Lehigh!  

Sustainable Office Program
A voluntary, self-guided program designed for faculty and staff to take the lead on promoting sustainable practices in the workplace.
Lehigh Sustainability Council
A council made up of faculty, staff, students, and administration that makes progress in improving Lehigh’s environmental impact through education, good business practices, and operations.

Programs

Lehigh supports several collaborative programs that promote sustainability and inspire behavior change among faculty and staff.

 
Mini Bin Swap
Swap your larger, black trash bin for a smaller trash bin that can clip onto your recycling bin.
Big Belly Bin Advertising
LU Facilities offers advertising space on the sides of the Big Belly solar compacting bins throughout campus to reach the Lehigh student, faculty, and staff community.
Bethlehem Farmers’ Market
Located in Farrington Square at Lehigh University on Thursdays from 10am-2pm from May - October. Please note: the 2020 season has been cancelled.
Lehigh Community Garden
The Lehigh Community Garden is located on Goodman Campus. Faculty, staff, and students are able to purchase a plot to grow their own produce.
Southside Initiative
Brings together Lehigh University faculty, students, and staff with the people of Bethlehem in order to share knowledge, foster democracy, and improve the quality of life in our city.
Sustainable Initiative Grant
Formerly known as the GreenFund, provides financial resources to members of the Lehigh community who want to create a greener, more sustainable campus.
