Northampton County has begun the 2019 distribution of Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for seniors (60+) and moms using the WIC program! The program gives $20 worth of vouchers to eligible seniors to spend on fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Income limits for seniors this year are $23,107/yr. for a single person and $31,284 for a couple.
Moms can get the vouchers at their WIC appointments.
For seniors, vouchers are distributed at senior centers, senior apartments and at some of our area farmers markets. Vouchers are first-come, first-serve and there is a limited number available, so don't miss out on this great program! If you are looking for info on where to get your vouchers we have it up on our website, along with the proxy form if you need to send someone to pick them up for you. To get the vouchers, you will need to show proof of age (state ID, driver's license, birth certificate) and proof of residency (utility bill, lease, etc.). You must pick up vouchers in the county you live in.
Coupons worth a total of $20.00 are available to Northampton County residents age 60 and over who meet income eligibility criteria thanks to continuation of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The coupons are distributed by the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging.
