The Eco-Rep Leadeship Program will be accepting applications for the 2019-2020 academic year from March 18th - April 1st.  Open Eco-Rep positions include Hall Eco-Reps, Building Eco-Reps, and Eco-Rep Coordinators.  You can review the specific position descriptions in the accordion section below. 

Important Application Information

Each applicant must submit a completed online application by April 1st.  Partial applications will NOT be considered.  In addition, each applicant must also either:

          (1) be nominated by a faculty or staff member at Lehigh, or a current Eco-Rep Coordinator - they must send their

          nomination to (include name, class year, and 1-2 sentence description of why the student

          is a good fit) by April 1st at 5:00pm


          (2) supply two references as part of the online application

Position Descriptions

There are three different types of Eco-Reps, all with varying levels of time commitment and responsibility.  Please review the positions descriptions below to determine which position you would like to apply to.  On the Hall or Building Eco-Rep application, there is a question that asks you to select select your preferred position: Hall Eco-Rep, Building Eco-Rep, or no preference.

Application Deadline

All application materials must be received by Monday, April 1st.

  • Open to all undergraduate students with at least one year remaining at Lehigh

  • Strong record of academic achievement. (3.0 GPA or higher is recommended)

  • Passionate about sustainability and desire to improve behaviors

  • Exceptional skills in interpersonal communication, leadership, and time management

  • Must be reliable and responsible

  • Living on campus is strongly preferred, but not always required

Selection Process

Promising candidates will be interviewed as a key component of the selection process.  Interviews will be conducted during the week of April 8th.  They will be held in STEPS.  Candidates will receive more information about the interviews when they are contacted for scheduling.  Final decisions will be made the week of April 15th.

Lehigh's Eco-Rep Leadership Program works with a select group of students each year to:

  • Build and share knowledge
  • Implement behavior change
  • Develop leadership skills

  • Learn about sustainable living program topics and develop your skills as a peer educator

  • Be a change agent by fostering sustainable living among your peers and empowering them to take action

  • Develop your peer-to-peer leadership skills, communication skills, behavior change, and event planning skills

  • Measure impact of programs and events - identify areas of improvement and opportunities for innovation

Attend an Information Session

If you are interested in applying, but want to know more, attend an information session.  At this session, you will learn more about the Eco-Rep Leadership Program, what being an Eco-Rep entails, what the rewards are, and you will hear from current Eco-Reps about their experiences in the program.  The information session schedule for Spring 2019 is:
