Plan Overview

Lehigh has taken numerous steps over the years to integrate sustainability into its operational and academic processes. The creation of Lehigh's first Campus Sustainability Plan in 2012 marked the university's first institutional roadmap for this important priority. Lehigh's second Campus Sustainability Plan in 2016 built on this progress and the goals in that Plan map to 2020. Over the last four years, we have achieved many of our sustainability goals as a result of hard work and collaboration.

Lehigh's next Sustainability Strategic Plan will be a 10-year plan that continues to build on the great progress of the last decade. Although Lehigh has made great strides, there is a lot mroe that needs to be done and will be done to ensure Lehigh continues to seek and embrace new solutions to support long-term sustainable change. The Plan will focus on our global climate challenges and how Lehigh will embrace its responsibility to be a model sustainable campus. Lehigh understands its responsibility to contribute to the health of our planet as a whole.

The Plan will include six main focus areas:

In addition, each of the goals within the Plan will be tied to one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Plan will be released to the campus community in fall 2020. Stay tuned for updates!
