The Swap Shop is a joint effort between the Eco-House Residential Community, the Office of Sustainability, and the PRIDE Center that focuses on reducing textile and clothing waste on campus by providing a space where people can freely swap old clothes for new clothes, ultimately reducing the amount of clothing that ends up in landfills.
Formerly know as a Pop-Up, the Swap Shop now has a permanent home in the Office of Sustainability at 516 Brodhead Avenue. It is accessible to all students and Lehigh community members, so the use of the store is free and run by students who volunteer their time. The Swap Shop is organized by type of clothing rather than gender to make the space as inclusive as possible.
On Friday. February 7 the Eco-House hosting the Swap Shop's grand opening. Over 30 students cam together to celebrate this milestone, explore the shop, and enjoy eachother's company.
Donations are lightly used clothing and shoes are accepted. Anyone interested in donating can drop bagged items off at the Swap Shop located in Room 207 in the Office of Sustainability. Please contact Sophia Mayone at som421@lehigh.edu for more information.
Unfortunately, the Swap Shop is closed until further notice due to COVID-19. Stay tuned for more information!
