Human Resources stands at the heart of Lehigh, doing everything imaginable from hiring, to employee training, to employee benefits. Although they are busy year round, Human Resources did not let the summer slump slow them down as they recently became a silver certified office in the Sustainable Office Program. They completed 79 out of 175 possible actions.
Monica Guiher, Senior Human Resources Assistant, took the lead for the department and became the Sustainable Office Program Representative. The representative is the main contact between their department and the Office of Sustainability. Monica stayed in close contact with the office as she did a general audit of her office space (the baseline survey) and noted what sustainable practices HR regularly performed (checklist of actions).
Monica believes that all offices should improve their sustainable practices and join the program. Begin the first step of the process by filling out the registration form.
