Celebrate America Recycles Day this November 15th at Lehigh and join us in fostering an atmosphere that is dedicated to recycling and bettering our campus community. America Recycles Day is a nationwide initiative to promote recycling and taking ownership of the impacts we have on the environment. It is sponsored as one of many “Keep America Beautiful” initiatives, and over 70,000 people have signed the “#BeRecycled” pledge, and you can, too here. There are thousands of registered recycling events throughout the country on November 15. At Lehigh, be part of the “Caught Green Handed” campaign on the UC front lawn between 1130 a.m. and 1 p.m. Our team will be on the hunt for students engaging in “green” activities, such as using a reusable water bottle or coffee mug and recycling. Once we spot you, get ready to have your picture taken in our “caught green handed” photo frame!
The current single stream recycling rate at Lehigh is around 20-25 percent. We can do better, and we need everyone’s help to keep improving. Commit to recycling, buying recycled products, and reducing your waste on this America Recycles Day and each day forward. Become an agent of change on campus, and encourage others to do the same. You have the power to make a difference at Lehigh!
