Taking Action and Joining the Dialogue: College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office Bronze Certification

You are here

Lehigh University’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dean’s Office is dedicated to providing an intimate setting to question how the world was, how the world is, and how it should be. The CAS Dean’s Office has become the 20th office on campus to join the Sustainable Office Program and was recently awarded a bronze certification. The Sustainable Office Program is a voluntary, self-guided program, where offices can take the lead in promoting sustainable practices in the workplace. Offices that are part of this program are sustainability leaders on campus and they help encourage others to follow in their green footsteps.

Daniele Holland took initiative as the Sustainable Office Representative and led her office through the certification process. When originally meeting with representatives from the Office of Sustainability, Daniele stated that her office was very adamant and excited about joining the program.  The mantra of the CAS Dean’s Office is to “Be part of something different. Make a difference. Join the dialogue.” This has translated into their commitment to improving campus sustainability and doing their part in making our university a better place.  The CAS Dean’s Office was recently awarded a bronze certification for completing 36 sustainable actions.  This desire to lead change will not only inspire other offices, but will also inspire students, staff, and faculty alike to independently work toward being the most sustainable versions of themselves.

The CAS Dean’s Office has shown interest in further investigating sustainable practices, including technological changes. The Office of Sustainability looks forward to working with CAS Dean’s Office down the road and is excited to see what the CAS Dean’s Office accomplishes in the future. If your office would also like to join the movement, you can register here, or email sustainability@lehigh.edu to learn more.
