Coal…Under Pressure

You are here

Come out to view a free screening of the National Geographic documentary ‘From the Ashes!’ This film is one of the many events happening on campus in support of Earth Week, which is April 16-22 and culminating in our Earth Day Fair on the 20th.

The documentary provides new insights on coal’s impact on the economy, the environment, and public health. It highlights the disparity between those that feel there is a “war on coal” and those who feel coal is “waging a war on us.” While coal was the vastly predominant source of energy in America between the Industrial Revolution and World War II, other forms of energy have risen in notoriety as cleaner alternatives.

Come check out ‘From the Ashes’ on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Zoellner Arts Center, Baker Hall. Learn about coal, public health, the economy, and the environment and find ways that YOU can make our campus and our world more sustainable.
