Lehigh has taken numerous steps to integrate sustainability into its academic and operational processes. The creation of our first Campus Sustainability Plan in 2012 marked the university's first institutional roadmap for this important priority. Lehigh's second Campus Sustainability Plan in 2016 built on this progress. Over the last four years, we have achieved many of our sustainability goals as a result of hard work, collaboration across all stems, and with the help of our students. We wished, once again, to engage our talented campus community in a strategic planning discussion for our next Sustainability Strategic Plan.
The Office of Sustainability recently hosted a two-part series of campus workshops that were open to all faculty, staff, and students. Between the sessions, 148 individuals attended. Participants shared current best practices, helped identify strategic priorities, and created new campus sustainability goals. You can watch those workshops here.
The Office of Sustainability will continue to develop the next Sustainability Strategic Plan with the support of the Lehigh Sustainability Council and an Alumni Advisory Council throughout the spring and summer. The plan is scheduled to be released to campus in fall 2020.
The Office of Sustainability recently launched a Sustainability Strategic Plan website. Here you will find information about the timeline, plan overview, engagement process, and progress report along with the six focus areas for the plan. Submit your feedback, comments, or questions using the submit feedback button at the bottom of the page to help shape our next plan.
