LU Facilities Achieves Platinum Certification in Sustainable Office Program

You are here

Over the summer, the Office of Sustainability had the pleasure of awarding LU Facilities with a Platinum Certification under the Sustainable Office Program. LU Facilities is located in Price Hall, with a mission to “ensure Lehigh is a safe, functional, sustainable, and inspiring environment for the entire University and community.” The office is headed by Brent Stringfellow, Associate VP and University Architect, with an additional 60 staff members.

LU Facilities is the third office certified under the Office of Sustainability’s revamped Sustainable Office Program with 136 actions completed. LU Facilities is also the 8th platinum-certified office on campus out of 46 total certifications. We would like to thank Sustainable Office Representative, Beth Strohl, for maintaining strong communication and kindness throughout the process. We thank Brent Stringfellow, Associate VP and University Architect; Don Pasda, Director of Buildings and Utility Systems; Erin Liston, Director of Planning, Design & Construction; Barb Plohocki, Director of EH&S; and all LU Facilities staff for their contributions towards Lehigh’s sustainability efforts.

The Sustainable Office Program is a voluntary, self-guided initiative, where individual offices can take the lead in promoting sustainability in the workplace. Faculty and staff who decide they want to work toward greening their workspace simply register for the program, take a general audit of their office space, and then fill out a checklist of actions. If your office would like to become a sustainable leader on campus you can register here, or email sustainability@lehigh.edu to learn more.
