2018-2019 Real Food Challenge Progress

The Real Food Challenge is a collaboration between the Office of Sustainability and Lehigh Dining Services to shift 20 percent of Lehigh’s existing university food budget away from industrial farms and junk food and towards local/community-based, fair, ecologically sound and humane food sources—what we call “real food”—by 2020.  Since 2013-2014, Lehigh has increased its “real” food percentage from 2 to 15%.  By signing the Real Food Campus Commitment and setting a goal of 20 percent “real” food by 2020, Lehigh prioritized supporting local economies, good business practices, and ecosystem and human health.
